Delay in Couples Tower Isle Opening -- Opening Date Moved to April 12, 2009

Here is an excerpt of a letter From Couples resort regarding the delays

Greetings to all travel partners:

Despite promises to the contrary, it is evident that some of the customized furnishings and fixtures and new kitchen equipment vital to the operation of Couples Tower Isle [formerly Couples Ocho Rios] will not be delivered / installed in time for us to open the resort on March 14, 2009 as previously announced.

It is with regret and disappointment, therefore, that I must announce a further delay in the opening of the new Couples Tower Isle. The resort will now open on Sunday April 12, 2009 and all facilities will be operational with the exception of the villa suites and some rooms in the Main Building.

Guests scheduled to arrive between March 14 and April 11 will be offered the following options:

1. Stay at Couples Negril, Couples Swept Away or Couples Sans Souci for the same arrival and departure dates. With this option, we will guarantee a room of equal or greater value and make every effort to accommodate a similar “view” (subject to availability). Guests accepting this option will be given a letter entitling them to a two night complimentary return stay to Couples Tower Isle valid for travel (without blackouts other than normal closeouts) through April 11, 2010.

2. Change arrival and departure dates to Couples Tower Isle (travel must be completed by December 25, 2009) in which case they will not incur any hotel rate increases and we will refund any potential rate difference if less than what they originally paid. Guests selecting this option will be responsible for any airline change fees and/or fare increases and will receive a two night comp letter upon arrival at Couples Tower Isle valid for travel within 12 months of that arrival date.

3. Cancel and receive a full refund of the hotel portion. No other compensation offered.

Finally, we must be advised no later than March 14, 2009 of which option the guest(s) have selected.
